Judean Plain Wineries
The Judean Plain Region holds the highest number of wineries in a concentrated area in Israel and has been producing grapes since the time of King Solomon. The grape produced in this region are of very high-quality because of the thin-topsoil on a bedrock of limestone, the low elevation, the amount of rain-fall and the dry cool weather. Teperberg 1870 Winery, the oldest established winery in Israel, is located in this region. Throughout all of Israel’s periods, Teperberg 1870 has developed into one of the largest Kosher wineries in Israel.
