Amir Katz

Sommelier and Tour guide

Amir Katz follows a long family tradition of wine and spirit traders. His great-grandfather smuggled Canadian whiskey into New England during Prohibition, later opening a wine shop in Boston.  Amir worked for his family from the time he was a child, starting from the bottom by hauling crates in the warehouse and would eventually train to be a professional sommelier. He has labored for more than a decade in the industry and has hand picked grapes inAndean fields, making wine in Sonoma County, running a visitors centers in the Carmel Mountain region before joining our team here at My Israel Wine Tours.  He speaks fluent English, Hebrew and Spanish, leading tours in all three languages and is currently training as a guide here in Israel.
